Safeguarding

Forster Community College aims to improve the life chances of young people and vulnerable adults by maximising the benefits of good quality educational and employment opportunities through personal support and within a safe environment.

At Forster Community College we take our responsibility for safeguarding all our learners very seriously. This means we are attentive to individual needs and circumstances and we are vigilant in our observation of our learners’ behaviour and any changes in behaviour that may indicate they are experiencing physical or emotional difficulties.

We have a designated Safeguarding Manager and all staff and volunteers undertake annual training in safeguarding. All our staff members are subject to enhanced DBS checks and all recruitment is carried out in line with our Safer Recruitment Policy.

Ofsted May 2011 said
“FCC meets government legislative requirements on safeguarding. Learners feel safe and appreciate the arrangements that ensure their welfare”.
